They’re Rooting for You
Plant Ranch is Your Local Yard and Garden Expert
For 30 years, Regina’s Plant Ranch has been supplying the city and area with gorgeous bedding plants, perennials, trees and shrubs. Owners Lucille and Alain Bouvier are plant lovers from way back, and it shows at Plant Ranch.
Lucille studied at Vermillion Agricultural and Vocation College, and Alain studied horticulture at Olds College. The couple met while working in agriculture at Brooks, Alta in 1972, and married the following year. A year later, their adventure in greenhouses began. “We have been in the greenhouse business since 1974 when we settled on a farm near Mazenod,” says Lucille. They started out raising cattle and farming, and soon found success in horticulture. When their greenhouse business began outshining their cattle, they made the move to become Bouvier Greenhouses. In 1991, Alain and Lucille joined a group of greenhouse gardeners to become Plant Ranch. “As the years passed, Plant Ranch became our family-owned operation and the greenhouse you know today,” says Lucille.
Plant Ranch, found at 5909 13th Avenue, is home to a wonderful selection of plants, trees, shrubs, perennials, bulbs, seeds and more. Whether you’re a novice gardener or an old pro, Plant Ranch can fill your garden—indoor and outdoor—with beautiful blossoms and fantastic foliage. There are plenty of herb and vegetable seeds and starts for gardens, and flowers to compliment pots and beds. Don’t miss the succulents, foliage, roses, grasses and pond plants either. If you’re in the market for trees, look no further for a fine collection of trees that love our prairie climate. There are also plenty of shrubs to fill in yards, create privacy, and protect against wind.
Not only can you find plants and more, but you can also get great advice and the supplies you need for garden success. “And our plants are started by us in our greenhouses on our farm,” says Lucille. With in-person shopping and curbside pick-up, you can find whatever you need to make your garden amazing this summer.
