Think of the children

Little Kinfolk knows that kids need style, too

Regina’s newest children’s boutique was born from a local mom’s need for stylish, quality clothes that could stand up to the kids wearing them. Owner and founder Dionne Keen saw the opportunity after the birth of her second son Prescott. “I realized that I was doing a lot of online shopping for baby clothing and that only increased with the pandemic,” she says. “Then, I noticed a lot of other mothers doing the same thing.”

Dionne realized she was onto to something—a local source for well-made, chic children’s clothing and accessories—and started doing her homework. In November 2021, Little Kinfolk made its debut online and the brick-and-mortar boutique opened in February 2022. Regina and area parents can now find fantastic made-in-Canada brands like Rylee & Cru, Noppies, Souris Mini and Enfant in sizes from preemie to 14 in the heart of the city’s Warehouse District.

“Our clothes are made to last through at least two kids, sometimes three,” says Dionne. “We want every parent to have access to quality clothes at a great price, and kids to look great and feel comfortable in everything they wear.” She tests every clothing brand on her own children before committing to an order. “If I wouldn’t put on my own kids, you won’t find it in our shop.”

Little Kinfolk is the place to find everything on trend in spring 2023. “Checkered prints in any colour are popular this year, and found in great sets like shirts and shorts, plus in dresses and rompers,” says Dionne. Flares are back in a big way with leggings and denim—and even cargo pants with big pockets. “Kids need room to carry their stuff too. Just be sure to check them before throwing in the wash,” laughs Dionne. Pastels are also hot, especially in pinks, purples and yellows. Neutrals and florals are also the height of fashion for the shorties this spring. “We also have a smart selection of outfits for more formal events. Whether you’re off to a wedding, a graduation or even Easter, there’s something for you here,” she says.

Beyond clothes, Little Kinfolk also offers shoes, accessories, toys, cutlery, teethers—even furniture. If you’re in the market for your own wee ones or for a gift, look no further. You can find Coco Village and Wee Gallery Toys, plus cutlery by Cink.
