Sourdough Grilled Cheese

  • Ingredients

    2 slices of your favourite sourdough bread2 tbsp butter2 slices old cheddar cheese 2 slices Swiss cheese1 tbsp mayonnais

  • Directions

    Heat a skillet or frying pan over medium-low heat. Spread one tbsp of butter on each slice of bread. Place cheese slices on one slice of bread, butter side up. Place second slice of bread butter side down on cheese. Spread half the mayonnaise on the outside top of the sandwich. Place in skillet mayonnaise side down and spread remaining mayonnaise onto bread facing up. Grill sandwich for three to four minutes or until golden brown and flip. Grill for another three to four minutes or until remaining side is golden brown and cheese is melted. Remove from heat, slice and serve. Pair it with tomato soup and pickles if desired.

Hot Chocolate Mug Cake

  • Ingredients

    ¼ cup all-purpose flour
    2 tbsp unsweetened cocoa powder
    3 tbsp sugar
    ¼ tsp baking powder
    ¼ cup milk
    2 tbsp vegetable or canola oil
    ¼ tsp vanilla extract
    1 tbsp chocolate chips

  • Directions

    Grease a large mug with cooking spray or butter. In a bowl, mix flour, unsweetened cocoa powder, granulated sugar, baking powder, and salt until combined. Add milk, oil, and vanilla. Mix until combined. Pour batter into mug and add chocolate chips on top of batter. Cook in the microwave for one to two minutes or until the cake is just set. Allow to cool slightly and enjoy. It’s even better with a dollop of whipped cream or caramel sauce.

Winter Whisky Mule

  • Ingredients

    1 oz. rye whiskey
    1 oz. pear vodka
    1 oz. pear nectar
    2 oz. Ginger beer or to taste Ice

  • Directions

    In a copper mug, add whiskey, vodka and nectar and stir. Add ice and top with ginger beer to taste.
