“Paws For A Cause”— A Community Appreciation Pet Portrait Fundraiser To Support Lucky Paws Dog Rescue
Lucky Paws Dog Rescue based out of Regina and Moose Jaw is an all-volunteer, non-profit charity that rescues, fosters and helps dogs get adopted to live happier and fuller lives. They accept good quality dog food, new/used collars, leashes, Canadian Tire money, kennels and blankets. Any monetary donations over $25 are eligible for a tax receipt.
Support from businesses & the community
Lucky Paws Dog Rescue’s mission to help rescue dogs would not be possible without the assistance of the local community. The following four Regina and Moose Jaw businesses are truly “rock stars” when it comes to what they do to in support of Lucky Paws: The Cathedral Pet Stop, Albert North Veterinary Clinic, Bellamy Harrison Animal Hospital and Gary Overs Kennelling and Obedience. You can find and follow them all on Facebook.
The Cathedral Pet Stop is located at 2924 13th Avenue in the heart of the Cathedral area of Regina. They hold adoption events for Lucky Paws throughout the year, host a pet portrait event with Santa during the Christmas season, and on most Sundays of the month, they host a dog in their store that is up for adoption with Lucky Paws Dog Rescue.
Albert North Veterinary Clinic is located at 216 McIntyre Street in Regina and has been supportive of Lucky Paws since their inception. They provide the rescue dogs with excellent health care and provide a large discount for all services. They are a busy clinic, but still always find a way to fit Lucky Paws in if there is an emergency.
Bellamy Harrison Animal Hospital located at 790 Lillooet Street in Moose Jaw is also one of Lucky Paws’ biggest supporters. The clinic provides a discount on all veterinary procedures, often free follow-up exams for dogs with specific health issues, and tons of telephone advice. Bellamy Harrison has a team of highly skilled veterinarians who stay current in their profession.
Gary Overs Kennelling & Obedience located at 860 High Street West in Moose Jaw provides amazing support to Lucky Paws such as free training and rehabilitation, fundraisers for food and monetary donations, and free grooming services. Gary will answer questions about behaviour issues, provide advice on ideal placements for dogs and more. His excellent knowledge and educational support is outstanding.
A fundraiser to say “Thank You”
To thank these four businesses, Brice Photography — a pet portrait photographer based out of Regina — recently hosted a community appreciation pet fundraiser for Lucky Paws Dog Rescue in both Regina and Moose Jaw. A total of 38 pets had their portraits taken, and $1200 was raised. The funds will cover costs for veterinary bills and supplies for Lucky Paws Dog Rescue.
A huge thank you is extended to the businesses named above and the pet owners who helped make this event a huge success — all to allow Lucky Paws Dog Rescue to continue their mission to ensure every dog they rescue is a lucky one. Brice Photography looks forward to hosting this event next year and raising even more funds for Lucky Paws Dog Rescue.
